Free AI video generator: turn text or photos into video
You can now make a short video without a camera, actors, or editing software, just a sentence or a single photo. Here is how AI video generation works and how to get a clip you actually want to share.
AI video used to require serious hardware and technical know-how. Today you can describe a scene and get a short clip back, or hand the model a photo and watch it come to life. Zappy puts both in the same studio you already use for images.
Two ways to make a video
- Text to video: type a prompt like "a neon koi fish swimming through glowing water, cinematic slow motion" and get a short clip. Best for scenes, moods, and abstract motion.
- Animate a photo: upload an image and add an optional motion hint, "slow zoom in," "gentle head turn." Best for bringing a portrait or product shot to life.

What to expect
Video takes longer than a still image, usually up to a couple of minutes, because there are many frames to render. Zappy shows a live progress indicator while it works and the credit cost before you start, so there are no surprises. Keep the tab open while it renders and your clip appears with a download button when it is ready.

Tips for better clips
Describe motion, not just the subject: what moves, and how. Simple, continuous motion (drifting clouds, rolling waves, a slow camera push) looks more convincing than complex action. For photo animation, start with a clean, sharp image and keep the motion subtle for the most natural result.
