Free MP4 Compressor

When something has a hard limit - a 25 MB email attachment, a 10 MB upload cap - you do not want to guess at quality settings. Name the size you need instead.

We read the length of your video, work backwards to the bitrate that lands near your target, and encode to it. Everything runs in this browser tab.

Runs in your browser - your file is never uploaded

How it works

1

Choose your MP4

We read its length to work out the bitrate.

2

Name your target size

5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 MB.

3

Download it

The result lands close to your target, usually just under.

FAQ

Will it hit the target size exactly?

Close, not exact. We compute a bitrate from your video's duration and leave a small margin, so the result normally comes in slightly under the target. Encoders vary a little around their bitrate target, which is why we do not promise the number to the byte.

What if the target is too small for the video?

Long videos squeezed into small targets look blocky - that is arithmetic, not a bug. If a 10 minute video has to fit in 5 MB there simply is not enough data to go around. Dropping the resolution at the same time helps a lot.

Is this different from the general video compressor?

Only in how you steer it. The compressor asks for a quality level and lets the size fall where it may. This one asks for a size and works out the quality. Same encoder underneath.
