Free Video Compressor

Make a video small enough to email, to attach, or to fit whatever size limit is standing in your way.

Pick a quality level and optionally drop the resolution. Everything happens in this tab - the file is never uploaded, so a 200 MB video costs you nothing in bandwidth.

FAQ

How much smaller will my video get?

It depends on the source, but Balanced typically halves a phone recording without an obvious difference. Dropping the resolution matters more than the quality dial - going from 1080p to 720p cuts the pixel count by more than half on its own.

Will it look bad?

Not at the default. We use H.264 with a constant quality target rather than a fixed bitrate, which means detailed scenes automatically get more data than simple ones. Only the Smallest setting is visibly lossy.

Is there a file size limit?

Around 220 MB, which is a limit of what a browser tab can hold in memory rather than a rule we made up. For anything larger, trim it first or drop the resolution.
